Janna's Celebration

Kim and I hosted a "celebration" for our good friend Janna before she has her baby. It was a cross between a shower and a blessingway. Traditional showers are kinda silly and we didn't want to play games, and blessingways celebrate the mother, so I decided to do a "celebration".

Janna called me in the morning saying her contractions were 20 minutes apart, and she would keep in touch before the celebration, and I said she had to show up no matter what! (ALERT: no baby as of right now).

Colleen made amazing cupcakes from scratch!
In lieu of gifts, we asked guests to bring foods that Janna and her little family could eat post-baby. I made a list of all the foods so they could put it on the fridge and her husband could just take a peek and say, "hamburger soup tonight hon?" or "shepherds pie with buns?". Janna brought her own cooler and walked away a happy woman! (well, a slightly uncomfortable happy woman).
Janna's MIL Beth couriered a package of boyish goodies from Ontario.
Ok this picture is hilarious.
Kim only has one eye open, and I hid half my body behind Janna on purpose.
And no, we are not sisters.
This is even funnier. They are comparing baby bumps.
Kim is 12 weeks pregnant. Janna, 39 weeks.
I forgot to take photos before the other ladies left, but it was an awesome afternoon. We chatted about baby names, and think that Janna should bring back "Myron" or "Ronald".

for my second baby all the lll gang threw me a "freezer shower".. everybody gave me after-baby-meals to stow away in my freezer. it was the most amazing blessing.

those cupcakes look delish... don't suppose there are any left, huh? ;)

Oh I wish I could have been there! I would have brought you a jar of peanut butter and a spoon! (the only successful meal I can make)

Hope that munchkin comes soon. Love you! :)
