The Missy and I are challenging ourselves to 12 days of unplugged playtime through http://play-activities.com/blog/
Day 1: Pull out blocks and just play with them. Easy enough. I was supposed to let her lead the playing, but we made a house together and she had the people (and cows) play on the roof of the house. Oh well.
Day 2: Record yourself doing a nursery rhyme or action song together. We read this book almost every day, so I figured that was good enough! This mommy does not play well by the rules!
Day 3: Cooking together: This was the first time I let M help me cook. She saw the cover of the new Martha Stewart Living magazine and kept saying "cake, cake!". She helped me:
a) dump the dry ingredients in
b) dump the wet ingredients in (this became very exciting, to the point of getting the shakes!)
c) count the eggs as I cracked them
d) separate the muffin paper liners and place them into the muffin pan. As you can see, she doubled some up!
e) lick the spatulas and beaters clean
The original blog post challenge said that this particular task would not go perfectly, let alone smoothly. I thought it went pretty well actually. She looooved helping. I don't think I will be cooking alone again any time soon!
Day 4: Book Marathon: This was just posted, and we have just started our day, so good thing we are heading to the library this morning! I'll post about what we did for Book Marathon day later....Here's my little "helper".

Love the pink diapers. What great ideas for playing together. Isn't the oven plugged in? :P Kidding...
