Dyeing Playsilks

I have had these raw silks sitting around for a YEAR waiting to be dyed. I finally went out looking for Kool Aid to dye them....I was so happy that I couldn't find it at my favorite grocery store! I bought 6 different flavours/color at a larger grocery chain.

This was SO. FUN. It was so satisfying, mixing up the colors, swirling around the silk scarves, rinsing them out, hanging them out. When I was standing at my sink rinsing and rinsing, I thought, "I wish this was my job. Mixing colors and crafting all day long. What fun". :)

I used the instructions found here. So easy. We went through a lot of vineagar though! We have 6 silks left to dye. I am hoping that my package of blue color is actually blue and not red.

I will never have Kool-Aid in the house now that I know how much artificial color is in them! Wow. The silk scarves are SO vibrant. Its really amazing. And really disturbing.
