While on vacation we started talking about the mail system. Missy and her grandma bought postcards to send to her friends and family back at home. We wrote them up and took them to the Canada Post office to put on stamps and toss into the big red mail box.
We made this mailbox to hang on Nana's uncompleted fencepost in her front yard. We covered Ike's formula can with printer paper, decorated it, and hung it up with twine. One day Missy received a letter from the landscaping crew with zoo stickers. She was thrilled. Nana left her a goodie in the mailbox too :)The other day we were hanging around on the front deck and the postal carrier was coming around our bay. Missy was so excited, shouting out each house he was visiting: "Now he's at Sonia's! Next he's coming here mom!!" She had a long discussion with him about postcards and using the red mailboxes.
