Weekend Wrapup

The tree is up! Yes, it comes with lights already on it. Its wonderful. One day we will get a real tree, when the kids ask. Missy was very helpful getting all the decorations put on the lower branches. I really like how it lights up the living room at night :)
We had our last Salsa class this weekend. Someone took their shirt off. We are still deciding if we are going to take it again in January....i have to do some research on how much physical activity a almost 3 year old needs. I don't think she is getting enough. But our winters are horrible here!

Big Susan came over today to make Shepherds Pie. We made a huge casserole for her family and 2 little ones for us to freeze and eat this week. We were able to use the potatoes, onions and peas from my Community Support Agriculture farmer Keith. Then Uncle Steven came over and begged for one...I told him we'd make more while waiting for the baby and send it his way!
I also made a huge pot of chili AND turkey soup stock, using my turkey carcass from Thanksgiving!! Everything is cooling now and waiting to be put into freezable containers. Nesting, indeed.
Missy opened her Advent Mitten today and got a Moose pin that is wrapped in Christmas lights. She wanted to put him to bed to sleep. We made a "bed" out of a tupperware container, a pillow and blanket out of baby washcloths, a la If You Give a Mouse A Cookie. (although that mouse slept in a little powder box!).
Immediately after this photo was taken I trimmed her bangs!! Poor kid. Her hair is a disaster!

What a great tree! It has like.. 1000 more lights than ours and looks that much better! We also did some cooking this weekend - chili and all kinds of salads. We are sick of eating junk food. You have so much energy!
